Hey Red Phone, a while back it was reported that the city-owned
property where Simple Beverages liquor store was once located,
needed to be dug up and old underground gas tanks and other stuff
removed. When is that scheduled to happen?
“Hey Red Phone, a while back it was reported that the city-owned property where Simple Beverages liquor store was once located, needed to be dug up and old underground gas tanks and other stuff removed. When is that scheduled to happen? Thanks in advance, Red Phone.”
Red Phone: Dear What’s the Schedule, this is an easy one.
The same day Red Phone got your call, it also received an e-mail from Garrett Toy, director of Business Assistance & Housing Services.
The e-mail stated that the Redevelopment Agency has contracted with AEI Consultants to remove underground storage tanks, associated with the former gas station and other underground debris at that location.
“The work is scheduled to begin Monday morning, Nov. 30, and is slated to be complete within two weeks, barring unforeseen complications,” Toy wrote in the e-mail. “The site will be fenced and the 8-space parking lot directly in front of the former liquor store building will not be available for public access or parking for the duration of the excavation project. However, the adjacent 18-space parking lot just north of Trail Dust will remain open for public parking.”
There you have it, good caller.
Toy also suggested anyone with questions about this project could call 778-6480.
Can we get the paper delivered?
“Hi, we’re Morgan Hill residents and we don’t understand why the Morgan Hill Times cannot be delivered to our home.
There is delivery service less than 500 feet from our driveway and we have had complimentary papers delivered; but, when it comes time for the subscription renewal, we can only get it for the $77 per year by mail. Why is that?”
Red Phone: Dear Wants the Times, Red Phone contacted Circulation Manager Walt Glines who said he has good news.
He checked the map and although you are just a block outside the circulation area, he has accommodated your request.
“They’re now on our Tuesday and Friday home carrier home delivery list at a substantial price difference.”
Hope that answers your question, good caller, and thanks for reading the Morgan Hill Times.
