Hector Aguero, age 70, a long-time resident of Gilroy, passed away peacefully at his home, after a heroic battle with a lengthy illness. He was born in Del Rio, Texas, to Conrado and Narcissa Aguero, who preceded him in death. He was a friend to many and loved by all. He served his country in the Air Force as a Military Policeman, as well as serving in two wars. He was an Electrician by trade, a Master Story-Teller, was extremely humorous, witty, adventurous and a great athlete, who mastered everything he did, whether it be boxing, speedboating or motorcycle racing. He was a man who knew how to enjoy life. One of his favorite sayings was ” I’m going to the Office ” (Oakwood
Lounge). This was a man that you could not pull the wool over his eyes. He was always a step ahead, and he beat us all to heaven.
He was the loving brother of Edward (deceased), Henry, Maria, Anita, and Cha-Cha, as well as many nieces and nephews, especially his nephew Edward
Christopher Cisneros.
Hector is survived by his devoted daughter Teresa who loved him more than the “Universe”. He is also survived by her husband Ray Dominguez, his only son Hector Aguero Jr, daughter Laurie, who will forever have him in her heart, and also her husband Eddie Ponce, daughter Allison as well.
Hector is also survived by his grandchildren, Mia Marie, Rikki & spouse Yvette, Kiki & spouse Elisa, Vanessa & spouse Justin, Marty, Jesse Jr., Jason and Salina Marie. He is also survived by great-grandchildren; Sabian, Kade, Kilias, Jasmine, John Ross Jr., Lil Jay, and Frankie Ruben Jr.
He is also survived by his long time companion Margaret Salgado, as well as her children and grandchildren.
Vigil will be held Oct.19, 2006 at Habing Family Funeral Home at 7:00 pm, with Mass at St. Mary’s Oct. 20, 2006 to be held at 12:00 noon, followed by burial at St.
Mary’s Cemetery.
