 Galen Willis Bergquist, resident of Village Green in Gilroy, CA passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at the age of 87.
 Husband of the late Edythe Bergquist who passed on May 19, 1998. Father of Dennis Bergquist and his wife, Leslie; Ann Costa and her husband, Randy. Grandfather of Matthew, Mark and Lauren Bergquist and Thomas and Kevin Costa.
 Galen was born in Burdick, KS on July 4, 1926 and moved to San Luis Obispo, CA on July 17, 1937.
 He Graduated from High School in SLO and attended Cal Poly. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Counter Intelligence Corps in Germany after World War II. He was a resident of Salinas from 1959 – 2004 before moving to Gilroy. He was a civil engineer for Cal Trans for 40 years.
 Galen was an avid nature lover; being a docent at Point Lobos, serving meals for Meals on Wheels and had many guide dogs through 4-H with his children.  
 While at Village Green his favorite past time were weekly breakfasts with his favorite group at O.D’s Restaurant, Gilroy on Tuesdays, and taking walks along the trail. He also enjoyed sports and particularly tennis and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
 Galen’s family would like to thank Gilroy Rehabilitation Center and Village Green for their dedication to Galen’s care.
