Visitation will be held Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Grunnagle Funeral Home 870 San Benito St., Hollister from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the recitation of the rosary offered at 7:00 P.M. Friends may visit the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon at which time family and friends will proceed to Sacred Heart Church 680 College Street, Hollister for a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 1:00 P.M.  Bienvenido “Ben”Mazon, 74, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013, in Mercy Hospital in Merced, CA, surrounded by his beloved family. Born in La Union, Philippines, Ben had lived in Manila half his life.
 During his early years, Ben loved dancing, enjoyed carpentry, and swimming. By trade, he worked for many years as a merchant seaman for Stolt Nielsen Inc, giving him the opportunity to set sail and travel the world. Ben was best described by his family as a devoted husband, loving father, and a wonderfully funny grandfather.
 Ben is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marietta, three daughters, Shirley, Lynn, and Mabelle, five grandchildren, Caitlyn, 15, Miranda, 12, Caleb, 10, Kallista, 7, and Nikayah, 2 and sons-in-law, Jose, Rowell, and Carlo, two sisters, Aurelia and Evelyn, brother, Jaime, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
 Ben was preceded in death by his parents Joaquin and Felisa.
