A new neighborhood grocery store is expected to open in the Jackson Oaks subdivision by early 2014, according to City staff. Currently the nearest grocery store is Safeway on East Dunne Avenue, more than three miles away.
Co-owners Charlie King and Minh Le acquired their business license for Hilltop Market from the City of Morgan Hill Dec. 12, according to Morgan Hill Economic Development Manager Edith Ramirez.
The store, which currently displays a “Coming soon…” banner sign on an exterior wall of the building, is located at 16820 Jackson Oaks Drive, near the intersection of East Dunne Avenue in east Morgan Hill.
The market is described as a retail establishment offering snacks, beverages and miscellaneous household items, Ramirez said. The owners plan to open by February 2014.
