Michael passed away in an airplane crash in Los Banos, CA and is survived by his parents, Joseph and Katherine; brother, Peter; his dog, Kirby; grandmother, Dorothy; several aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

Born in Merced, CA, Mike moved to Morgan Hill, CA with his family in April of 1979. Mike lived there until the age of 18, making a ton of friends and crafting a legend along the way. Upon his graduation from Live Oak High School in June 1997, Mike moved to San Luis Obispo, CA to attend courses at Cal Poly. As he always did, Mike put his nose to the grindstone and navigated through some difficult coursework to earn a B.S. in Crop Science on June 14, 2003. He then returned to the Morgan Hill area to become the Production Manager for his family business, Uesugi Farms. Mike then purchased, and moved into, his first home in Los Banos in January, 2006. It was there that Mike spent the last fifteen months of his life.

In addition to being a great farmer and dedicated member of the family business, he was also an avid dirt bike rider and snowskier. He would also often be found hanging out with Kirby and friends at various local gatherings and outdoor events. Mike was a loving son and brother and the most unique individual most of us have ever known. Those of us who were fortunate enough to know him will forever be blessed with countless good times and infinite memories.

In lieu of flowers, Mike’s family humbly requests that a tax-deductable donation be sent to: The Michael Aiello Memorial Agricultural Scholarship Fund, c/o Uesugi Farms, 1020 State Hwy. 25, Gilroy, CA 95020. These proceeds will benefit graduating high school students who are pursuing higher education and a career in Agriculture. A celebration of Mike’s life will take place on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Chiala Mansion, 2880 Tennant Avenue in Morgan Hill. Johnson Funeral Home, Morgan Hill, CA, serving the family.
