Corvalent Celebrates 10th Anniversary
Morgan Hill – Corvalent, a designer and manufacturer of custom motherboards and industrial computer systems for embedded (non-PC) computers, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Morgan Hill.
Founded in 1993, Corvalent moved to Morgan Hill in 1997 from its original operations in Silicon Valley. The company’s computer products are often found running at the core of medical equipment, factory automation, robotics, security and surveillance digital video recorders, point-of-sale systems and military/defense technology.
“We are proud to have chosen Morgan Hill as our headquarters,” said Ed Trevis, founder, president and CEO of Corvalent.
“Moving to the South Valley in 1998 has had a tremendous impact in the quality of my life,” said Elcio Santos, controller.
Corvalent offers designs based on the latest Intel microprocessors, aiming chiefly for longevity, with products carrying a five -to- eight-year production guarantee. This life cycle guarantee reduces customer redesign and recertification costs down the road. Additionally, Corvalent’s rugged products are designed to withstand shock, vibration, and other harsh conditions of industrial environments.
“Our core value is the longevity and consistency of our products,” said Tom Krueger, vice president of business development.
“If you’ve got a medical company, for example, and they try to design a system and go through FDA approval for that system, they need to know that the system won’t expire with a typical PC life cycle,” Krueger said.
The company is an affiliate member of the Intel Communications Alliance, a community of developers that provide standards-based solutions on Intel technologies.
Corvalent is headquartered in Morgan Hill and has branches in Portland, Oregon, Europe and South America.
