The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office has declined to press charges in a case involving eight men arrested by Morgan Hill police on Sept. 23 in the parking lot of the StriXe Lounge in the Tennant Station shopping center, according to Morgan Hill police Cmdr. David Swing.
Arthur Hernandez, 36, Jocelyn Gonzalez, 21, Carlos Gonzalez, 24, Jason Sevilla, 18, Anthony DeJesus, Travis Persijn, 21, Abel Charirez, 19, and Evan Martinez, 18, will not be charged in the incident.
The Times reported the arrests in the Sept. 25 edition. The incident was reported as a gang fight, and Swing said Thursday that witnesses in the parking lot heard some of the individuals yelling, “Norte,” and “Sur,” which refer to Norteños and Sureños, known South County gangs. But he said that doesn’t necessarily mean all those who were arrested are gang members. If there are gang members involved, he said, even if not all the people involved are gang members, the incident is considered by police to be gang-related.
