A big rig became fully engulfed in flames Tuesday morning after it hit the center divide on northbound U.S. 101 near Betabel Road in San Benito County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver, 45-year-old Victor Soto of Salinas, did not suffer any known injuries in the accident, which was reported at 8:44 a.m., according to the CHP.

The 2007 Peterbilt hit the divide and came to a rest on the southbound side of U.S. 101, before becoming engulfed in flames.

All lanes were open at 11:18 a.m.
