Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, British West Indies. Roderick L Yip M.D., 81, passed away after a short illness in Chico, CA. Dr Yip moved to Hollister in 1963 and practiced family medicine and surgery until his retirement in 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Yip, whom he was married to for 52 years, son Raymond Yip, M.D., of Chico, CA, daughters; Dolly Wendel of Chico, CA, Cherie Torquato of Hayden, ID, Linda Yip of Port Angeles WA, sisters; Enid Thomson of Apopka, FL, and Yvonne Lau of Carlsbad, CA, brother Celian Yip of Prunedale, CA, six nieces and nephews and seven grandchildren.
Dr. Yip always had a hobby. Hobbies included violin playing/making, gardening, art and astronomy. After retirement,. he continued his love for violins by teaching.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, December 16, at 4 pm at the Hollister Seventh-Day Adventist Church. The family requests that any donations be sent in his memory to Amazing Facts, PO Box 1058, Roseville, CA 95678-8058.
