DON’T JUDGE ME!: Was it just us, or did the judges seems particularly harsh with Morgan Hill’s hometown dancing star Ryan Ramirez and her partner Ricky Jaime Wednesday night? The duo on FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance?” first danced a Jazz number to Frank Sinatra’s “All I Need is the Girl” to which the judges deemed “OK.” Producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe: “This is a terrible thing to say, but both of you have had difficulty connecting with the audience in the last few weeks.” And, maybe he’s right. Home viewers have sent the pair who have made it to the Top 12 into the bottom three twice this season – or maybe more people need to vote for Ramirez, says her aunt Tiffany Goller who has been driving to Los Angeles every week to attend the live shows. Get Goller’s perspective on “SYTYCD?” and Ramirez in a special question-and-answer right here.

FIRE FIZZLES: After a yawn by the judges for their so-so Sinatra recital, Ramirez and Jaime gyrated and hip-rolled in a cha-cha to Enrique Iglesias’ dance hit “Tonight I’m Loving You.” Ramirez changed from a tight bun and long black gown with a high slit in the Sinatra piece to a hot orange bedazzled mini-dress. The pair moved “too fast” judge Mary Murphy said. “It was the fastest cha-cha I’ve ever seen!” Is that a bad thing, the Times thought? Lythgoe said Ramirez was overdoing it and Murphy commented that she looked sloppy.

A MORE MODERN REVIEW: The pair were able to turn their frowns to smiles thanks to guest judges Jesse Tyler Ferguson of “Modern Family” fame and choreographer Sonya Tayeh. “Ryan, you were flirting with me. Message received loud … and … clear!” Ferguson joked. “It’s just hot! So hot!” Tayeh told Ramirez she while she read the pressure on her face and in her movement. “It seems like you get tense sometimes. I want you to embrace how wonderful you are. You’re amazing.”

TOP 10 OR BUST: On Thursday night’s elimination show, fans of “SYTYCD?” will find out if Ramirez made it to the Top 10. Once in the Top 10, dancers will separate from their partners and dance solo, and also with the show’s all-star cast – returning dancers from previous seasons. Also, the Top 10 will go on tour around the country performing in live shows.
