Do you ever drive around and see something that just doesn’t look right? Perhaps it is a collection of trash along the road or a patch of weeks in a park. Unfortunately, the city’s resources aren’t adequate enough to keep the city entirely litter free and looking as nice as we would all like it to look. To help clean up the town, we’ve begun holding a city Beautification Day once a year.
So … what are you doing on the morning of May 21? Care to join us in making a difference? City Beautification Day is an opportunity for everyone in Morgan Hill to join in beautifying our town. We have an assortment of projects available from planting to trimming to picking up litter. This is really your chance to spend a morning joining with your friends and neighbors to improve Morgan Hill So come with a group or come by yourself … but by all means do come. Here are the particulars: Saturday, May 21, 8am at City Hall, 17555 Peak Ave. What to bring: water, gloves, and sunscreen.
What to eat afterward: We’ll be having a celebratory barbecue lunch at Community Park after the event.
What to wear afterward: All participants will receive a free T-shirt to thank them for their efforts to beautify Morgan Hill. What number to call for more information: 779-7247 or en*****@************ca.gov. I look forward to seeing you there.
Eco-fact of the week: The City of Morgan Hill is officially one of Keep California Beautiful’s “Proud Communities.” Our beautification activities include city Beautification Day, our flower seed distribution and the fall daffodil bulb distribution.
