Dear Editor,

I wanted to thank Sports Editor Jim Johnson for the recent coverage of our daughter Chelsea’s accomplishments in water polo at CSU Monterey Bay this year. She was thrilled to have not only a feature article, but then immediate recognition of her All-American status. It means a great deal to her to be featured in her hometown newspaper.

Our German exchange student Ferry Unger was also very excited about having an article written on his impressive diving and track achievements at Live Oak. We are fortunate to live in a town where kids matter so much, and the local paper is often filled with positive articles about our children.

I also must commend you on the quality of writing in the newspaper, and now that I’m used to the new format, I do like it. The feature stories about locals are always fascinating and informative (you go, Robin and Surf Sol Sisters!). I really enjoy reading the Red and Green Phones – people often ask questions I’ve been wondering about myself.

Your editorials have also been “right on” recently – you always present an objective, thoughtful view to many of the hot issues in the community and even the state.

Thank you, Morgan Hill Times, for being an integral part of what makes Morgan Hill so special.
