Mary Richards Stevenson Martineau died April 27, 2005, in Reno, Nev.
She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Nov. 13, 1902. She grew up in Salt Lake City where she attended school and obtained a teacher’s certificate. Mary moved to McGill, Nev., in 1924 to teach school and married Eldon Rice Martineau in 1931 in Austin, Nev. Her sons Charles S. and Paul S. were born in Ely, Nev., in 1932 and 1934. The family moved to Placer County in 1937. Her daughter Suzanne S. was born in Sacramento in 1944. Mary moved to Morgan Hill in 1986 and then to Reno in 1998.
Mary is survived by her sons Charles (Joan) Martineau and Paul (JoAnn) Martineau, daughter Suzanne (Robert) White; eight grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, Sparks and Children’s Cabinet, Reno.
