December 3

Stolen vehicle: A resident of the Nob Hill Apartments reported someone stole her Buick Regal overnight. She told officers the keys were left in the vehicle. The report was taken at 2:29pm.

Fraud: A clerk at the Residence Inn on Madrone Parkway reported a man came over from the Marriott, and and told her he was told to come to the Inn for change. He had five $20 bills, and asked for two $50s. She told him she only had a $100 bill, and he took that and gave her the five $20s. He then came back to show her a $10 bill and said that was what she gave him, so she gave him the $20s back. Afterwards, she realized it was a scam. The report was taken at 7:02pm.

Fraud: Big 5 Sporting Goods reported a customer came in and asked for a $100 bill in exchange for five $20 bills. The cashier gave him the $100 bill, and he left the store but came right back with a $10 bill, saying that’s what the cashier had given him. The cashier then gave him another $100. Police were given a description of the suspect; he is also on the surveillance tape. The report was taken at 7:28pm.

December 4

Petty theft: An employee of the Microtel Inn and Suites on Condit Road reported her phone was taken from the front desk area while she was working. She received a call from her cell phone, someone telling her to meet at a shop. She went with her boss to the shop, but no one came to meet her. Later, she said, a male in a Pontiac Grand Am drove up to the Inn, waved the phone at her and told her to give him $25 for it, then drove off. The report was taken at 12:58pm.

Battery: A Central High female student told a clerk in a store that her boyfriend had just slapped her, then he left on a southbound bus. The girl left the store, and the clerk called police to tell them she was on her way to Albertson’s where her grandmother would pick her up. The girl, who lives with her grandmother, did not want to tell police her boyfriend’s name. The mother of the girl later called police to say the daughter has been beaten up by the boyfriend, whose name she gave police, in the past. The grandmother told the mother the girl has come home several times with bruises on her body. The report was taken at 7:34pm.

Burglary: A house on Wright Avenue was broken into while the the owners were away, and numerous items were stolen. The report was taken at 9:35pm.

Battery: An employee of the Executive Inn Suites on Condit Road reported a male and female in a physical fight. The female had bruises and marks on her neck where the male was chocking her, the employee told police. The male left in a vehicle without the female and the infant she had in a car seat. The report was taken at 9:52pm.

December 5

Fraud: A Morgan Hill resident reported her purse was stolen on the morning of Dec. 4 when she was at the M and H Tavern. She told police two charges were made on her credit card at the Chevron gas station on East Dunne Avenue. The report was taken at 6:39am.

Vandalism: Techmart on Railroad Avenue reported a window of the business was broken overnight. The window has bars covering it, and no entry was made to the business. The report was taken at 8:37am.

Fraud: A Morgan Hill resident reported someone forged her name and “drained” her bank account. The report was taken at 9:43am.

Fraud: A resident of Dougherty Avenue reported someone stole two checks from his mail and attempted to cash them within the last three weeks. The report was taken at 9:51am.

Vandalism: The door to the well house at the Boys Ranch on Malaguerra Avenue was kicked in and jammed. The report was taken at 1:17pm.

Threats: A resident of West Dunne Avenue reported her sister’s ex-boyfriend was at the residence threatening her. She gave police the man’s name and description. The report was taken at 2:23pm.

December 6

Vandalism: A resident of Sorrel Way reported four windows of his GMC Suburban were apparently shot out with a pellet gun overnight. The report was taken at 7:39am.

Vandalism: A resident of Hayloft Way reported a window of their Ford van was shattered overnight, possibly by a pellet gun. The report was taken at 7:50am.

Burglary: A resident of Bender Circle reported that when she came home at noon, she saw three people leave her front door. The suspects then circled her house. Then she noticed that two window screens were pried off her windows and her back gate was open. The report was taken at 4:35pm.

December 7

Vandalism: A resident of Hayloft Way reported the rear sliding window of his Chevy Silverado was shattered overnight, but nothing was stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken at 9:56am.

Fraud: A resident of La Bella Court reported someone used her account number to make charges totaling $861. The card was used at TJ Maxx and Stufft Pizza, she told police. The report was taken at 2:18pm.

Vandalism: Someone shot out a window at an address on East Main Avenue with a BB gun overnight. The report was taken at 2:58pm.

Vandalism: Value Business Products on Monterey Road reported a window of a vehicle parked at the business was shattered during the afternoon. The report was taken at 5:02pm.

Vandalism: A Morgan Hill resident reported a window of her Ford Explorer was shattered while it was parked in the Community Center parking lot, but nothing was stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken at 6:41pm.

Stolen vehicle: An employee of GianCarlos restaurant on Monterey Road reported he parked his Chevy Suburban at the restaurant, unlocked and with the keys inside, and it was stolen. The report was taken at 9:31pm.
