What is going to be in the coolest place in Morgan Hill this summer? Those of you who already know this is a really easy question because the Morgan Hill Aquatic Center is nearly ready to open its doors. This place is going to be so wicked cool.
At long last, the Morgan Hill community will have enough pools to accommodate its big demand for water sports and recreation. The Aquatic Center will have something for everyone including:
Daily Lap Swimming Hours
Daily Recreational Swimming and Water Play
50-Meter Competition Pool
Sprayground and Water Play Toys
Zero-Entry Recreational Pool With Slide
Swim Lessons
Water Aerobics
The grand opening is scheduled for the weekend of June 12-13, with the first swim lesson sessions starting Monday, June 14. In addition to the many regular activities listed above, the aquatic facility will also play host to many special events this summer like Dive-In movie nights, a Teen Howl special party, and an Eggstra Morning Swim. You can even reserve a room to have a birthday party, group event, or other activity.
Passes for the facility are now for sale at the Community and Cultural Center and come in a variety of packages depending on your interests. You can begin signing up for swim lessons and other recreational activities on Saturday, April 24, at the Community and Cultural Center from 9 a.m.-noon.
Eco-Facts of the Week: The Aquatic Center is being built with a variety of green construction techniques that will help make it a regional showcase. Extensive water conservation technologies are being built into the facility, recycled content materials are being used in the construction process, and the use of natural light has been incorporated into the design. An estimated 103 million people a year swim for survival, leisure, or competition.
Eco-Web Page of the Week: The Aquatic Center’s web site is at http://www.mhaquaticscenter.com. You can view the construction with a webcam at the facility at http://www.novapartners.com/mhac/ .
