A former resident of Morgan Hill and San Jose, he lived in Sierra Vista, Ariz., at the time of his death.

Born in Longmont, Colo., Mr. Lamb worked the railroad line as a teen and joined the U.S. Army in the 1950s to ultimately become a 1st lieutenant. Upon discharge, he and his wife, Camilla, moved to Westport, Conn., where he began a 34-year career with IBM.

He was also nominated as Morgan Hill Citizen of the Year. He was a founding member of Frazier Lake Airpark in Hollister, where he spent part of his 22 flying years as a private pilot.

While living in Sierra Vista, he helped found the local Youth Orchestra and donated his time to help build a music program in the local schools.

Mr. and Mrs. Lamb moved to Sierra Vista in 1997, and Mrs. Lamb died shortly thereafter. He is also preceded in death by his father Adam Lamb and his mother Emma Louise Gerhard.

He is survived by his partner of six years, Harriet Yount; daughter Heather Lamb of Tucson, Ariz.; son and daughter-in-law John D. and Cindi of Redondo Beach; and grandson John Joseph. He also had a large extended family and many friends.
