This letter is to inform voters that the Legislature is quietly working to impose their will over the will of the people.
In 2000, voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition 22 (the Protection of Marriage Initiative). Now our lawmakers are in the process of passing AB1967 which would legalize homosexual marriage and go completely against the democratic will of the majority of Californians.
I am outraged that our elected officials have the audacity to quietly overturn Proposition 22! We need to let our representatives know that we will not stand for this behavior and demand they reject AB1967. If we passively allow our lawmakers to legalize homosexual marriage, the issue will never be in question again and the institution of the family will forever be destroyed.
The introduction of legalized gay marriages will open the door to polygamy and other alternatives to one man, one woman unions. The implications for children in a world of decaying families are devastating and profound. We are at a moral crossroads in our history and it’s time to take a stand for what is right before it is too late.
Please write Gov. Schwarzenegger at the Capital Building, Sacramento, CA 95814 or call 916-445-2841 to demand he reject AB1967. Call Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez who has the authority to stop AB1967 in its tracks (916-319-2046).
