Take a ride on Scholastic’s “The Magic School Bus” with Ms. Fizzle and friends for a whirling hands-on journey into weather, starting May 15. Send miniature hot air balloons sailing over a heated surface, compare the effects of heat on a variety of surfaces, and orbit the earth around the sun in Ms. Fizzles Classroom. Measure listening, build a snowflake, and mix up your own wild weather in The Weather Observatory. And don’t forget to try your hand at reporting the weather live from the TV Studio.
On May 12, clarinest Michael Corner will delight with his latest musical re-telling of the beloved tale, Rainbow Fish, at the museum May 12, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Have a musical experience based upon Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister, while learning about the woodwind family of instruments.
The Circus Chimera returns to Discovery Meadow with a thrilling production, May 19-23. The clowns will intrigue you, the Russian swing will thrill you, and the juggles and tumblers will amaze you with their acts of strength and daring under the Big Top.
Children over the age of four with varying experiences display their creative works of art through May 31. Students at the Young Art Studio, based in Cupertino for 30 years, have concentrated on oil painting, but also use a variety of other materials- pencil, ink, pastel, clay to express themselves.
