Albert graduated from Pittsburgh High School and then attended St. Mary’s College for a year before transferring to San Jose State, where he played on the famous, undefeated 1939 football team. In 1940 he enlisted in the Army and served during World War II in the South Pacific.

After the war he returned to San Jose State. Upon graduating, he coached football for Linden High School in Linden, Calif., and then returned to San Jose to work for the Prudential Insurance Co. Albert was with them until he retired in 1980 at which time he moved to Morgan Hill. In Morgan Hill he pursued his passion for golf, cheered for his beloved San Jose State football team and trained his beautiful standard poodles. He was also a longtime member of the Italian FBI Club.

Albert is survived by his loving wife, Helen; brother Dante Vedovelli; sisters Libby Junta and Jean Allen; nieces Carolyn Junta, Francine McMillan, Cathy Crippen and Sandra Lee Patton; nephews Gary Allen and Dennis Vedovelli; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

His life will be celebrated in a memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31 at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, Morgan Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to St. John the Divine Building Fund.
