rousing family-friendly concert Saturday, July 3, at Lake
Cunningham Park in San Jose.
Symphony Silicon Valley will celebrate the Fourth of July with a rousing family-friendly concert Saturday, July 3, at Lake Cunningham Park in San Jose.
Besides rousing patriotic music, the evening will include picnicking on the lawn and food vendors all capped off with a joyous fireworks display.
Under the baton of Maestro Theo Alcantara, the 65-piece symphony will perform Handel’s Water Music, Tchaikowsky’s 1812 Overture, Bonfiglio performing a Stephen Foster medley, 15-year-old vocal star Manuel Romero singing “Elvis Lives” and Stars and Stripes Forever.
Tickets are $15. Arrive early with blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets. Shuttle service from Eastridge Shopping Mall.
The grounds open at 5:30 p.m. for picnicking; the concert at 7:30 p.m., fireworks after dark. The park is located at 2305 South White Road at Tully, San Jose.
Tickets will be available at the park on the day of the concert; cash only at the park.
