A season after squeaking into the section playoffs and advancing
to the Northern California playoffs, the Live Oak High girls
volleyball team will give it another shot this year. The Acorns
found out last weekend that they have qualified for the Central
Coast Section Division I playoffs, where they will be the No. 7
seed.

The Acorns found out last weekend that they have qualified for the Central Coast Section Division I playoffs, where they will be the No. 7 seed.
In its playoff opener, Live Oak (18-15 overall) will host No. 10 Monta Vista of Cupertino (13-19) on Wednesday at 7pm.
The winner will travel to North Salinas High to face LO’s TCAL rival No. 2 Salinas (28-7) on Saturday at 11am.
The top seed in Division I is Aptos (22-4).
Last season, Live Oak upset Salinas in the CCS playoffs en route to making the CCS finals against Piedmont Hills, then advancing to NorCal.
Other area teams involved in the CCS girls volleyball playoffs include:
- No. 5 Hollister-SB (26-8) plays No. 4 Menlo-Atherton (22-12) in the second round of the Division I playoffs at Valley Christian High in San Jose on Saturday at 3pm.

Division IV top seed Notre Dame-Salinas (25-10) play the winner of No. 9 Sacred Heart Prep (16-20) vs. No. 8 Harker (22-6) in the second round at North Salinas High on Saturday at 3pm.
Meanwhile, the Live Oak field hockey team awaits its postseason fate until tonight, when the CCS seeding meeting is held. The CCS field hockey playoffs will begin on Thursday.
