Riding a top-notch defensive effort, the Live Oak High hockey team beat Fremont 4-2 on Friday night. At halftime, Fremont remained scoreless. Live Oak was missing its two top scorers and pressed hard to defend their winning streak and hang on to their first-place position. LO junior Chase Norman scored three goals and sophomore Scott Alexander added a goal and an assist. On defense, Acorn senior goalie Michael Anvari made crucial saves in net. And, seniors Matt Edgar and Monica Cline, junior Ricky Lasher, and sophomore Conner Williamson made key contributions to the team’s win. Later this week, Live Oak will play Independence with a full squad.

The Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League is accepting reumes from anyone interested in serving on its board of directors. All positions are open. SCBA registration
On Saturday, Nov. 20 from 9am to noon there will be a registration table for the Winter session of the South County Basketball Association at the Britton Middle School gym. The cost is $85 for a returning players and $105 for a player who needs a jersey. For any application postmarked after Nov. 26, add $20. Applications available at www.scbabasketball.org or by calling 779-8325. The skills clinics will be held Dec. 4, and games begin Jan. 10.
