This workshop is for the small business owner who knows that bookkeeping is important for success, but is intimidated, confused, or unskilled in keeping financial records.
Get control of your business with the basic, written (no computers), double entry bookkeeping system, along with simple filing and record-keeping techniques.
Business banking, auto and petty cash records and working with an accountant will also be touched on in this fast passed workshop.

Learn how to get started the right way by participating in this 2-hour workshop presented by the Gavilan College Small Business Development Center. “Starting Your Own Business” presents an overview of marketing essentials, produce selection, business goal setting, legal issues, licenses required, risk evaluation, bookkeeping, financing, and management issues. Workplace skills in a retail environment
Would you like a job in retail? 20 new retail stores will be opening in the highway 152 retail center by June of 2004. Attend this dynamic workshop offered by the Gilroy Economic Development Corporation in conjunction with the Silicon Valley Workforce Investment Network, Career Advance-ment Solutions and Gavilan College Small Business Development Center.This No Cost 8 hour training course will help you learn the basics of working in retail. The instructor will review the following: Overview of working in a retail environment, principles of customer service, work attitudes and ethics, business communication, dealing with difficult people, handling money, cashiering & scanning practices.
