Area Christian Home Educators Convention, April 16-17.
The state of today’s education is encouraging more and more parents-inquirers, novices and seasoned experts alike-to attend the 18th Annual Bay Area Christian Home Educators Convention, April 16-17.
Parents and teens will find the information, resources and encouragement needed to homeschool during this not-to-be-missed event at the Santa Clara Convention Center, 5001 Great America Parkway.
The public is invited to a free Introduction to Home Education session Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. and afterward to browse the dedicated booths offering information.
There is a charge to attend all other areas of the Convention including an Exhibit Hall, called the Homeschool MarketPlace, with textbooks and resources for review and purchase, and more than 20 Exhibitor workshops. On Friday evening the Homeschool MarketPlace will be open only to Convention registrants who are CHEA members.
Workshop sessions will be presented by keynote speakers Dr. Michael Farris, president of Patrick Henry College, and John Walsh, author and speaker and more.
For the third year at this event CHEA will offer the Christian Parent Educators Certificate program in which attendees can earn recognition for attending basic workshops. CHEA membership, separate registration, and documentation required. New this year is the high school certificate.
Dr. Farris will present a Constitutional Law Symposium on Friday for teens and parents. This is a separate event, requiring separate registration. Contact Patrick Henry college at 540-338-8712.
No children are permitted except infants up to two years and teens 12-18 years old who are registered to attend.
