Auto burglary:
• A Morgan Hill resident reported his locked Saturn was broken
into; a window was broken, and the trunk and passenger side doors
were left open. Several items were stolen from the vehicle. The
report was taken on Sept. 17 at 8:04am.

• A locked Mitsubishi Eclipse was broken into while parked in the Cochrane Plaza Shopping Center. A side window was shattered, and the stereo system and a portable stereo were stolen. The report was taken on 3:12pm on Sept. 18.
• A resident of Mathilda Avenue reported his Saturn was broken into and the stereo stolen. He said several of his neighbors’ vehicles were also broken into. The report was taken on Sept. 19 at 8:37am.
•A resident of the Village Avante Apartment Homes reported her locked Honda Civic was broken into and the stereo was stolen. The report was taken at 2:26pm on Sept. 19.
• A resident of East Edmundson Avenue reported the resident’s locked Toyota pickup was broken into. A window was shattered, and items were stolen from the glove compartment. It appeared as if the suspect(s) tried to steal the stereo but only were able to get the face plate off. The report was taken on Sept. 19 at 2:39pm.
• A resident of the 300 block of Calle Caballeria reported a wallet and checkbook stolen from the resident’s unlocked vehicle. The report was taken at 9:47am on Sept. 20.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported that while she was in the 24 Hour Fitness someone broke into her vehicle and stole her purse. The vehicle was locked but one window was open a crack. The report was taken on Sept. 23 at 5:13pm.
•A resident of the 16900 block of Del Monte Avenue reported his Dodge van was broken into. Windows were shattered but it was unclear at the time of the report if anything was stolen. The report was taken 6:24am on Sept. 27.
• Marie Callendars Restaurant on Sutter Boulevard reported a customer’s Mercedes was broken into while they were in the restaurant. The stereo was stolen. The report was taken on Oct. 3 at 6:32pm.
• A Honda Civic was broken into while the owner was at the Community Adult School. A window was shattered, and the stereo was stolen. The report was taken at 7:54pm on Oct. 4.
Fraud:
• Rite Aid on Monterey Road reported a female suspect tried to fill a fraudulent prescription for vicadin. The report was taken on Sept. 15 at 1:17pm.
• Longs Drug Store on East Dunne Avenue reported receiving a counterfeit $20 bill, and there is an employee who can identify the customer. The report was taken at 8:58am on Oct. 2.
• A resident of the Woodland Estates Mobile Home park reported she received a call saying her son was in custody in San Diego and to send money via Western Union for bail. She found out her son was never in custody. The report was taken on Oct. 2 at 4:55pm.
Identity theft:
• A resident of the Terracina Apartments reported he suspects someone is using his identity because of information received from a Social Security trace. He told police there were multiple instances between 1984 and 1999. The report was taken on Sept. 13 at 10:38am.
