’s deputies stopped a car without headlights driving northbound
on Monterey Road near Tennant Avenue, just before 2am Friday, and
discovered girls aged 13 and 15. The car turned out to have been
hijacked at 9pm Thursday from a women delivering Domino Pizza in
Santa Rosa.
Sheriff’s deputies stopped a car without headlights driving northbound on Monterey Road near Tennant Avenue, just before 2am Friday, and discovered girls aged 13 and 15. The car turned out to have been hijacked at 9pm Thursday from a women delivering Domino Pizza in Santa Rosa.
When questioned by Santa Clara County Sheriff’s deputies, the girls admitted the carjacking, saying they hid behind bushes and ambushed the driver when she returned from making a delivery in Santa Rosa.
When asked what they were doing in Morgan Hill, they said that after the carjacking, they jumped on the freeway and just drove south. The girls were not aware of where they were or how far away they were from home, deputies said.
The girls were arrested without incident.
Officer Detective Mike Lazzarini of the Santa Rosa Police Department said the woman was not injured but, along with the 1995 beige Ford Contour, the two girls also got money and pizza.
The girls, who were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for carjacking and possession of stolen property, both live in Sonoma County near Santa Rosa.
