Shopping and studying do not mix! What is the Chamber of Commerce thinking?

Our Morgan Hill downtown is a lovely place for shopping, street festivals, Friday night dances and fine dining. People that do these activities generally don’t visit the library as well, or vice versa. We already have a nice downtown bookstore for purchasing books. Libraries need a peaceful and quiet neighborhood for people to study and read, and easy access for people picking up and dropping off books.

I participated in the city poll and there was a public vote of 2-1 to keep the library at the current location. The Library Commission also voted 6-0-1 to keep the library where it is. The public has spoken, the commission has spoken – why are we even consulting the Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development partnership?

We are the taxpayers. Say no to a downtown library or a peaceful trip to the library will be a thing of the past.
