This upcoming election year will be bringing two relatively unknown politicians to Morgan Hill seeking our vote to become our next state senator from the 15th District.
San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Peg Pinard is the Democratic Party nominee. Santa Maria Assemblyman Abel Maldonado is the Republican opponent. Morgan Hill voters will play a crucial role in what is shaping up to be a very competitive election.
Morgan Hill will have a unique opportunity to meet Pinard and make up its own mind about this candidate. An interview with Peg will be airing on Morgan Hill Access Television (Cable Channel 19) every Monday at 8 p.m. in June. The show will also being airing at 8 a.m. every Tuesday in June (beginning June 8). I wish to invite all of your readers to observe this energetic and engaging candidate in action.
Pinard has already made several trips to Morgan Hill. She has received the endorsement of Mayor Dennis Kennedy as well as City Councilmembers Greg Sellers, Steve Tate and Larry Carr. Congressional Representatives Michael Honda and Zoe Lofgren along with Assemblymembers John Laird and Simon Salinas have also declared their support.
Morgan Hill will have another opportunity to meet Peg. Mark the date of July 9 on your calendars, as more information will be coming about the big event being planned.
Mark Moore, Morgan Hill
