And, the Almaden Valley Gymnastics Team keeps bringing home team trophies in the top three for every competing level.
At the Golden Bear Winter Wondermeet on the UC Berkeley campus on Jan. 25, the girls brought home a number of first-place medals.
Schlaefer, Level 8, took first place on Vault with a 9.175 and Beam with a 9.450, and third-place All-Around with a total score of 36.30. Ostheimer took first place on Floor with a score of 9.2. Evans, level 9, placed first on Vault with an 8.9 and Beam with an 8.75 and second place on Floor with a 9.050 with an All-Around fifth-place score.
Last weekend, the girls competed at UC Davis in the Golden State Classic.
Schlaefer took home the gold medal for highest All-Around score, with a 36.725. She also came in first place on Vault (9.05) and Bars (9.45). Evans came in first place on Beam (9.3) and fourth on Vault (9.0).
The girls will be competing at SJSU on the weekend of Feb. 21-22.
Everyone is encouraged to come show their support for these local gymnasts from Level 4-6 (Saturday) and 7-10 (Sunday).
