Joe Fortino Sr. of Gilroy, died Jan. 13, 2005.
Joe enjoyed fishing, swimming, bowling, boxing and working with his hands. In the 50’s, Joe owned Liberty Club, Club O.K. and Club 14-0, after which he went to work for Atlas Pools where he worked as a foreman until his retirement.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law Margaret, son Jim and his wife Pat Fortino, son Joe and his wife Peggy Fortino; grandchildren Gordon, Sandy, Tim, Andrea, Lieutenant John, Michelle, Mike, Keri, Amanda, Carolyn, Joe and Renee; great-grandchildren Amy, Ashley, Johnny, Jacob, Jessica, Lukas, Niko, Jenna, Daniel, Anthony and Dominic; brother to Frank and Ruby, Ron and Maxine, and Louise Fortino; nephew to Louise Nacarrato and Juanita Gallo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Freda Fortino, son Robert Fortino, and brothers Sandy and Al Fortino.
Memorial services take place at 6:30pm on Thursday, Jan. 20, at Habing Family Funeral Home.
The family asks that any donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
