A grass fire continues to burn after charring about 10 acres of grass north of Morgan Hill.

Calfire engines and air tankers responded to the fire about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday near Malech Road, on the east side of U.S. 101, according to Calfire fire prevention specialist Chris Morgan.

The fire so far has burned only grass and brush, Morgan said.

As of 1:20 p.m. authorities who were not on scene at the fire did not know how much the fire had grown, or if firefighters had been able to contain or control the blaze. They also did not know if any structures were threatened.

Crews from Calfire, San Jose Fire Department and South Santa Clara County Fire District are at the scene.
