Clay Millers throws for two touchdowns, rushes for a third on a
98-yard scramble
BRENTWOOD — Playing a balanced game on the road with two rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns, the Morgan Hill Junior Midget Raiders crushed the Brentwood Falcons 28-0 last weekend for their third shutout win of 2010.
Anthony Ditta started the scoring with a direct-snap run for a touchdown in the second quarter. Raiders quarterback Clay Miller threw touchdown passes to Logan Hall and Max Sanford and also rushed for the final score on a 98-yard scramble up the middle — Morgan Hill’s longest play from scrimmage this year.
The Raiders’ offense moved the ball well behind excellent blocking by linemen David Huffman, Zachary Diaz and Jacob Owens.
On special teams, Alex McKerrow blasted a 30-yard punt in his first attempt this season. The play gave Morgan Hill a significant edge in field position.
The Raiders’ defense was tough all day. Wyatt Bunt anchored a line that brought pressure and stopped the run. Ayrton Omoigui intercepted a deep pass from the Brentwood quarterback, and the Raiders’ secondary had tight coverage throughout the game.
The Junior Midget Raiders host the Cambrian Valley Longhorns on Saturday.
