John Laird is the right and best choice for State Senate
Dear Editor,
Over four years ago, I had to deal with a state regulator on a water and transportation issue for my employer in south Santa Clara and Monterey county, and I asked John Laird for some help. He was my assemblyman at the time, representing Morgan Hill.
John and his office team were extremely helpful, courteous and forthcoming in their explanation of the process. I heartily endorse John for Senate District 15, which encompasses the central coast and inland areas, including Morgan Hill.
He is intelligent, proactive, budget-savvy, and works well with his fellow legislators. The other guy really could care less, and hasn’t talked to anyone here with less than a million dollars in the bank.0
Remember to vote Aug. 17 for John Laird. There really is no better choice.
Daniel J. Kenney, Morgan Hill

John Laird knows how to get things done, vote Aug. 17
Dear Editor,
In an Aug. 3 2010 letter to the editor, Frank Fletcher declares “Blakeslee is right on State’s Economy.” The letter goes on to describe what is wrong and then continues to say” Let’s get back to bringing job’s to the State, rebuilding our economy and go ‘slow and easy’ on the rush to make everything green.”
Well anyone with a pulse knows what is wrong with the economy; where is the specific plan to fix it? The Pollyanna approach; “let’s get back to bringing jobs to California” is something we all want, but I have yet to see a plan for doing this from Sam Blakeslee. Wishes are not getting it done, Sam.
John Laird on the other hand knows that an on-time, balanced budget for California is a start. John Laird also knows that green jobs are a win-win situation for California.
We need to build the infrastructure for the future now, and that includes renewable energy and a sustainable environment.
And that means jobs. John Laird has an intimate knowledge of the state’s economy as the Chair of the Budget Committee in the Legislature, he brought the budget in balanced and on time.
So let’s quit wishing in one hand … and elect John Laird Aug. 17. The man with a plan and the fiscal experience to get the job done! Vote for John Laird Aug. 17!
Swanee Edwards, Morgan Hill
