Arden Edwards passed away at his home in Morgan Hill, CA on Monday afternoon, January 11, 2010. He was comforted by his father, step mother, family and friends.

Arden was born in Glendive, MT to Wayne and Joyce Edwards and grew up on the family ranch in Opheim, MT where working and playing hard was the familiar. These traits, he kept throughout his life.

He touched the lives of many people in many different ways. He was a son, brother, an engineer, a dear friend. He is perhaps best known as an adventurer…a calculated risk taker.

Arden’s enduring appetite for adventure sparked him to undertake many hobbies and activities ranging in scope from the outdoors, travel and motorsports; an avid and expert motorcyclist both on and off road,alpine skier, hang glider pilot and scuba diver, he was never one to let the grass grow under his feet. He met many lifelong friends during his pursuits of adventure.

Arden graduated from University of Montana Bozeman with a degree in chemical engineering, after which he moved to California and was soon employed in the Aero-Space Industry, designing and producing solid propellant rocket motors. Arden worked nearly 30 years in this Industry, holding various positions throughout his career with the most recent position of Senior Project Engineer (Design and Development) for Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne.

In January 2009, he was diagnosed with liver cancer. This was the beginning of a courageous struggle to stay healthy, strong and active. The family would like to thank all the friends, associates and doctors who encouraged him, and whose thoughts were with him during his fight with cancer. A very special thank you to David Kautz for his love, help, and support. Arden is profoundly missed.

Arden is preceded in death by his mother Joyce and his cousin and good friend Mitch Edwards. His paternal grandparents Graydon and Emma Edwards, his maternal grandparents George and Margaret Storkson.

He is survived by his father Wayne and step-mother Diane, his sister Tammy Craft (Tom),step-brother Eric Frank and step-sister Shawna Wherley. Numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
