At least two California Highway Patrol vehicles and an ambulance responded to a dark red SUV that rolled over north of Cochrane Road on northbound U.S. 101. The accident was reported to the CHP at 5:12 p.m. and soon after the right lane of 101 was blocked off with road flares as authorities handled the single-vehicle accident. It’s uncertain how many people were in the dark red SUV, but minor injuries were reported. Wet road conditions may have been a factor.

The incident was called in as an “extreme reckless driver” according to the CHP incident report.

The SUV was laying on its side and facing oncoming traffic in the right lane. The windows were blown out and the SUV appeared crumpled.

All lanes were open as of 6:02 p.m. and a tow truck was on the scene to take away the car.
