Ida Rae Bonacich, age 77, of Gilroy, CA passed away at her home in the arms of her loving family on March 26, 2010.
Ida Rae (Cunner) Bonacich was born May 2, 1932 in Portland OR. She was the daughter of Raymond and Ida (Burke) Cunner. Ida Rae attended the University of California at Davis. She was united in Marriage with George Paul Bonacich on March 22, 1952.
Ida Rae raised her family of 4 children and kept the books for the family farming business. She also taught piano to young and old students in the community.
Ida Rae was a piano accompanist, at the Gilroy Unified School District and church accompanist for Saint Augustine Anglican Church in Hollister, CA.
Grateful for having shared her life, are her husband George Bonacich, her son Louis Bonacich of Chantilly Virginia, her daughter Linda and her husband Hugh (Skip) Vanderford Jr. of Discovery Bay, June Bonacich and her partner Joselle Monarchi, both of San Francisco, and 6 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son John Paul Bonacich.
Visitation will be this Tuesday, March 30th from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the chapel of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be offered Wednesday morning at the funeral home, commencing at 11:00 A.M. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 900 First St., Gilroy,Ca.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church, 5th and College Streets, Hollister.
The family requests that donations are preferred to the Saint Augustine’s Anglican Church care of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home at 870 San Benito Street Hollister CA 95023.
