ATC participants take home 20 medals total

Eleven students from America Taekwondo Center were a dominant force in last weekend’s Jimmy Kim Invitational in Long Beach. The event drew more than 1,000 competitors from across the U.S.
Out of a possible 22-gold medal count, ATC students brought home the following medals: nine gold, six silver and five bronze.
Cheyenne Hubbard, 13, competed in the Black Belt division and won bronze in both forms and sparring competitions. Sukhpreet Pabla, 12, earned bronze in the Black Belt sparring division. Pabla’s sister, 10-year-old Anmol (Annie) Kaur, won silver in the Black Belt sparring competition. Brandon Jacinto, 10, also competed in the Black Belt division and won silver in both forms and sparring, and Jordan O’Keefe, 8, competed in the Black Belt division and won gold in both forms and sparring.
In the Red Belt division, Gryphon Bjerk-Andres, 12, took home gold in both forms and sparring, and 11-year-old Khoi Nghiem won gold in forms and silver in sparring. Camilla Santana, 10, won gold in forms and silver in sparring, and Grant Petersen, 8, won gold in forms and bronze in sparring.
Kathy Dinh, 10, won double gold in the Blue Belt division in her first top level tournament. Another competitor new to the tournament scene, 12-year-old Jacob Hirschler, won double silver medals in the Green Belt division.
The 11 students train under certified sixth-degree grandmaster Chae Song Mun at America Taekwondo Center, located at 820 East Dunne Avenue.
