The Morgan Hill Junior Midget Raiders jumped all over the Gilroy Browns last week in the Outdoor Sports Center, winning 30-0 for their fifth shutout this season.

The Raiders recovered an onside kick to start the game, with Anthony Ditta perfectly executing the kick and Nicholas Secolo making the recovery. Morgan Hill never looked back.

The Raiders’ first touchdown was a 9-yard pass from Clay Miller to Cole Campi. Maximo Zhang scored next on a 2-yard run that capped a 37-second, three-play drive. The scoring continued when Morgan Hill quarterback Clay miller escaped for an 18-yard touchdown run. Campi found the end zone on a 3-yard run for his second touchdown to round out the scoring.

Brandon Purcell tacked on 2-point conversions kicks following the first three touchdowns.

The Raiders’ defense stifled Gilroy all day. Josh Alaniz had a sack on the Browns’ first offensive play, pushing Gilroy deep into its own end of the field. Elvis Bernal and Cole Campi intercepted passes, and Noe Garcia, Jacob Saldivar and Max Sanford applied constant pressure.

The Raiders on Saturday visit Menlo-Atherton.
