In honor of his near record breaking single season effort, which included setting a CCS career rushing record, Trevor Bearden was named the Santa Teresa Division MVP, coach Mike Gemo announced after Friday’s game.
The league champs were rewarded with 16 players named to the All League Team, including four players of the year.
Bearden led them all with a 2,744 yard season, which was 212 yard shy of the single season record set last year. He finished with a CCS career record of 6,221 yards.
Live Oak also dominated the defensive awards, led by Ryan Quadros being named the Defensive Player of the Year, coming into Friday’s playoff game with a team-leading 128 tackles as a sophomore.
His brother Kyle Quadros was named Linebacker of the Year, with 110 tackles through 10 games, which was about 50 more than the next closest player on Live Oak.
Brandon Sorce was also honored as the Defensiveback of the Year with his five interceptions and two fumble recoveries, along with his 39 tackles.
In his sophomore campaign, quarterback Erik Ornduff was named to the First Team All League, joined by linemen Sean Aitken, Billy Bennett and Anthony Ditta, linebacker Jonathan Freitas and receiver Cole Griffin.
The Acorns had five named to the Second Team All League, led by defensiveback Chris Armstrong, with receiver/DB Cole Campi, DB Mitch Crowley, runningback/DB Paul Lomanto and lineman Morgan Smith.
