In its final match-up before heading to the San Diego Surf Cup,
the No. 2-ranked Central Valley Chilipeppers U11 girls soccer team
spanked the No. 3 San Ramon Azzure 6-1 last weekend. The
Chilipeppers controlled the game from the outset as Morgan Hill
’s Colby Carson and Sam Riolo led the charge. The Peppers held a
3-0 lead at the half on goals by Carson, Chloe Ainley and Zarette
Munoz. The second half was more of the same as Munoz, Breanna Ross
and Emily Sklar added three more. The Azzure broke through for a
single goal in the final 10 minutes
to provide the final margin.

The Peppers head down to San Diego as the second-ranked team in Northern California behind Danville’s Mustang Blast.
The Peppers have received strong play from their defense this season, which consists of Leslie Nelson, Hannah Vane, Emily Sklar Chloe Ainley and Brittany Squarcia. The midfield is anchored by Zarette Munoz, Samantha Riolo, Natalie Royle, Chloe Varvel, Celeste Kaashoek and Jessica Jocheim. And, the forward line is led by Colby Carson , Gabi Squarcia and Breanna Ross. The Peppers also have a strong group waiting to fill in with Lauren Saenz, and Emma Manzano, along with Rebekah Inouye of the Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League’s Storm squad joining as a guest player.
