A’s 11, Angels 5
The A’s had a very successful day at the plate, scoring 11 runs on 11 hits. Offensively, the A’s were paced by Parker Tamura, who had 3 RBI’s on 2 singles. Nelson Pyle got an RBI on a double and 2 singles, Kyle Villa hit a single and a 2-RBI double, Michael LemMon hit a single and a double, David Robinson hit an RBI single, and Aiden Styczynski hit a single. The A’s also showed aggressive base running, with Robinson stealing the circuit after a single, and Pyle stealing the circuit twice. The A’s also had a successful game in the field. Pitcher LemMon struck out 3 in the 1st inning. Shortstop Villa fielded a hot grounder and fired to Pyle on 1st for the 1st out in the 2nd inning; pitcher Styczynski fielded another grounder and tossed to Pyle for the 2nd out, and Styczynski got the 3rd out himself with a strikeout. Pitcher Jimmy Hagan recorded a perfect 3rd inning, with a groundout to Pyle on 1st base, a fly out to LemMon on 3rd base, and a strikeout. Catcher Jeremy Kastle recorded the last out of the 4th inning by grabbing a passed ball and tagging the runner trying to steal home. Pitcher Pyle struck out 3 in the 5th and 6th innings to seal the win for the A’s. The Angels also had a successful day on the base paths, scoring 5 runs by aggressive base running. Clayton Howard and Steven Baird stole for the circuit after reaching 1st base, Howard having been hit by a pitch, and Baird on a walk. Ty Gardner stole the circuit twice, each time after reaching 1st base on a walk. The Angels did well in the field as well, with pitcher Clayton Howard striking out three in the 1st inning and one in the 2nd inning. The Angels finished the 2nd inning by turning a double play with a runner on 1st when Howard, having moved to shortstop, caught an infield fly and then alertly threw to 1st baseman Gardner to catch the runner, who had failed to tag up. In the 4th inning, pitcher Conor Havstad accounted for all 3 outs, striking out 2 and then fielding a grounder back to the mound and tossing to 1st baseman Lorenzo Aguayo for the 3rd out. Havstad pitched 3 strikeouts in the 5th inning, and in the 6th inning caught an infield fly ball, pitched one strikeout, and again fielded a grounder and tossed to Aguayo on 1st base for the 3rd out.

Junior Division
Asteroids 10 Orbits 1
The final regular season game saw the Asteroids take a 3-0 lead on singles by Katie Machado, Amanda Morgan and Kirsten Doting and a towering double into center field by Annika Camacho. In the second inning Gail Wiselogel had a single, stole 2 bases and scored on an RBI single by Erin Brenneman. In the third inning Heather Merritt singled and then scored on an RBI single by Courtney Clampett. The fourth inning saw the Asteroids extend their lead to 10-1 with singles by Gail Wiselogel and Erin Brenneman and two RBI’s for Katie Machado on a ground rule double she hit past center field. Amanda Morgan singled and Madison Aguilar followed with an RBI sacrifice fly. Kirsten Doting singled and scored the final run on Annika Camacho’s second towering double of the day. Great defense and strong pitching coupled with powerful hitting finished off the Asteroids terrific regular season.
Moonbeams 10, Meteors 7
The Meteors burst forth in the first inning with two runs, but the Moonbeams quickly swung across the field to tie the score 2-2. In the top of the 4th, the Meteors pressed to catch up. Anna Parker bounded to first base, then arced around the bases; Darrian Kaspar singled to first, bringing home Anna Parker and sliding Claire Parker to third. Megan Rauschnot quickly shot Claire home, and Allie Stoner launched a brilliant home run. The Moonbeams brightened up again in the bottom of the 4th, scorng multiple runs.
