Sandra Ceja scored on a penalty kick to give Chaos a 1-0 lead early in the first half. Alexi Slattery broke away from the Fusion defenders to take the ball all the way to the goal and score for Chaos.
Almaden’s offense was shut down by the Chaos’s strong defensive line of Emily Allaert, Taylor Dempsey, Claire Giacalone, Kayla Owens and goalie Valaria Escalera. Chaos offensive players Maddie Bohn, C.C. Contreras, Isabella Apolinar, Tamlin Vereyken and Claire Toy kept the pressure on most of the second half.
