A second annual youth conference, “Youth Conversations on Race & Social Justice,” will be held from 10am to 3pm Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 Monterey Road.

The free event is hosted by Showing Up For Racial Justice-South County (SURJ). Speakers from the Community Agency for Resources, Advocacy and Services (CARAS), Council on American-Islamic Relations-California (CAIR California) and Silicon Valley FACES will be present.

The conference is designed for youth ages 12-19 and includes workshops on implicit bias, white privilege, de-escalation techniques, youth justice, writing about identity and more.

Speakers lined up are Mas Hashimoto, Rebeca Armendariz, Haleema Bharoocha, Zahra Billoo, David Chappell, Javier Diaz, Tuyen Fiack and Peter Parris.
