Local team will represent Bay Area in March 27-28 National
Championship Tournament
MORGAN HILL — The Ballers of Gilroy and Morgan Hill have earned the chance to play against some of the best youth basketball teams in the country.
The talented group of fifth-graders earned a trip to the National All Net Championship Tournament with a 3-0 run through the Silicon Valley playoffs, which were held March 5-12.
The Ballers (15-0 overall) won the title game 47-46, overcoming a furious outside shooting by Almaden. The local team led the entire game. Before that, the Ballers beat Saratoga 43-21 and San Carlos 46-25 in the opening rounds.
Now, they will represent the Bay Area in the National Tournament held March 27-28 in the Bren Event Center on campus at UC-Irvine.
