Cajun food coming soon to Morgan Hill

Red Phone, I’ve noticed that someone has posted ‘Trust Jesus’
signs on poles along Dunne Avenue between Walnut Grove Avenue and
Butterfield Boulevard. What a great idea, I’d like to copy it!
Before I post my ‘Trust Joseph Smith’ signs around town, I just
wanted to be sure it’s legal. Could you check?

Red Phone: Dear Is It Legal, in short, no. Whoever has posted the signs along Dunne Avenue has violated Morgan Hill Municipal Code 18.76.130, however the city’s ability to remove illegal signs is limited, according to City Attorney Danny Wan.

“Due to restraint in staff resources, the city must prioritize its enforcement efforts to those sign violations that directly impact public health and safety,” Wan said. “It is a safety enforcement priority to enforce against signs that are posted on traffic control devices, traffic signs, utility poles or poles where drivers might expect to see traffic signs.”

There you have it, good caller. Keep those “Trust Joseph Smith” signs in your trunk, or post them on private property.

Is someone counting vehicles?

“Red Phone, why are workers on the Cochrane Road/U.S. 101 overpass counting vehicles, if that is what they are doing?”

Red Phone: Dear Why, Red Phone immediately drove to Cochrane Road upon receiving the query Tuesday afternoon, but there was no one on the overpass counting cars or doing anything else.

Anyone else out there see them, or know what they may have been doing, contact Red Phone.
