The Tigers scored all three runs in the first inning. Jackson Gion had a double, and Chris Rositano walked with the bases loaded.
But the Yankees came back with four runs in the third inning. Taylor Pullen drew a walk. Bradly Morris singled, Nathaniel Batad reached on an error. The Yankees drew two more walks in the inning.
The Yankees added two more runs in the fifth. Jason Struzik, who also had a triple in the game, reached on an error. He scored on a squeeze play.
Yankees Christian Davies-White made a game-ending catch in center field to leave the bases loaded. Nathaniel Batad pitched 3 1/3 innings for the win.
