Live Oak High’s Christina Perea and Isabella Fernandez secured top-three individual finishes in the Central Coast Section Girls Wrestling Championships on Saturday night at Oak Grove High in San Jose to clinch bids to the state meet.

Perea finished second at 118 pounds. The sophomore received a first-round bye and won her next two matches by pin in 12 seconds and 4:48 before losing an 8-3 decision to Milpitas’ Tatiana Almogela in the final.

Fernandez placed third at 114 pounds. The junior claimed the third-place match against Salinas’ Dania Acosta by pin in 1:29.

The Acorns finished seventh in team scoring with 69 points.

Also for Live Oak, Amber Aochi took fourth at 108 pounds.

The top three in each weight class advanced to the state meet, which will be held Feb. 22 and 23 at Lemoore High.
