Work is set to begin on a project that will add retail shops, restaurants, a hotel and other facilities to a 20-acre lot at the corner of Cochrane Road and Butterfield Boulevard.
Evergreen Devco, Inc., which has developed retail and multifamily projects across the western United States, is preparing the site for the mixed-use center. Evergreen Village, as it is called, will also include memory care living facilities.
“One of the primary goals of the Evergreen Village was to create a unique mixed-use center that the Morgan Hill community can enjoy for generations to come,” said Rogg Collins, principal of Evergreen Devco. “We are beginning extensive site improvement work, which will include a new traffic signal, landscaping and public art for this very exciting project.”
According to Evergreen Devco, more than 60 percent of the development already has leases committed to multiple different tenants. However, Collins said he was unable to announce specific tenants at this time.
Site improvements are estimated to wrap up in December.
Poway-based Frans Construction, Inc. is the general contractor on the site, and MH Engineering Co. is the civil engineer on the project. Gary Hansen and Mike Costa with Cushman & Wakefield are marketing the property and can be reached at (408) 615-3400.
