Red Phone, my senior friends and I saw the recent story about
the man with the dangerous dog, and we were wondering if there’s a
list of where dangerous dogs are located so we can avoid those
areas on our walks. Can you help us stay safe?

“Red Phone, my senior friends and I saw the recent story about the man with the dangerous dog, and we were wondering if there’s a list of where dangerous dogs are located so we can avoid those areas on our walks. Can you help us stay safe?”
Red Phone: Dear Wants to Stay Safe, Red Phone contacted Police Chief Bruce Cumming, who provided Red Phone with a list. Currently, there are eight dangerous dogs residing in Morgan Hill, three at Level 2 (most serious) and five at Level 1 (less serious).
Level 2:
- A 3-year-old gray pit bull with a white chest on Sullivan Court.
-
A 10-year-old red Australian cattle dog on the 1500 block of Seville Drive.
-
A 7-year-old tan pit bull on the 17800 block of Calle Tirra.
Level 1:
- A 5-year-old black Labrador mix on La Honda Court.
-
A 4 year-old yellow Labrador on the 300 block of Long View Drive.
-
A 6-year-old tan shepherd mix on the 500 block of Clarmont Drive.
-
A 7-year-old white and brown Siberian husky on the 700 block of Clarmont Drive.
n A 10-year-old brown boxer on Romal Court.
Good caller, hope that answers your question and keeps your walks safe and bite free.
No development going on there
“Red Phone, driving down Depot Street, I saw what looked like carpenters on property between Third and Fourth streets. It looked like they were framing something. What’s going on out there?”
Red Phone: Dear Framed, property owner Rocke Garcia said he’s letting a friend put together frames for a nearby construction project. Alas, nothing is being built in that location. Hope that answers your question, good caller.
When will the San Martin Cafe reopen?
“The San Martin Cafe has a sign outside that says ‘Opening Soon,’ but that sign has been up for several months. When is soon?”
Red Phone: Dear When, Red Phone contacted Mary Haywood in the Santa Clara County planning department, who said the cafe was issued a building permit in March.
“It’s my understanding that the ball is in their court and they have to finish up to get final (approval),” she said. The restaurant sustained damage in a fire late last year, then announced they were would begin serving dinner. Red Phone took a drive, and called the number on the license application taped to the front window, but it has been disconnected. Good caller, stay tuned. Red Phone will continue to investigate the matter and report back soon.
